words and counting!
Do you want more ways to organize your writing? We thought you might. Now, add some color to snippets and groups. Right-click a snippet or group and select “Colors” from the menu. Use the colors however you want—say, to mark sections that you want to re-write, or snippets that might need further research. As with all things Yarny, it’s up to you how you use this feature.
Each time you color a snippet or group, Yarny also adds a Tag to that snippet or group. So, if you just want to see all of your “red” snippets and groups, enter #Color:red in the search field. Or, simply click the tag icon next to the search field and select it from the list.
We’ve heard from some of you that you just recently realized you can arrange snippets and groups. As a reminder, arrange your snippets simply by dragging and dropping them within the list. Create groups (second icon on the lower, left side of the snippet list) and add your snippets to groups. Just drag and drop a snippet onto a group to add it to that group (you’ll see a little plus sign appear when you’re over it).
If you haven’t used Yarny in the past week or so, you’ll see other nice additions too. These include the ability to add, edit and delete titles. Each title also shows the current number of words in the story so you can quickly check your progress. Also, when you first go to Yarny.me, you’ll see some help. Just click anywhere and it fades away. Click the “?” in the top bar to see the help again.
We’ve heard from some of you who are so excited when you go to Yarny.me that you forget to login to your account before you start writing. To guide these overachievers, and new users, we’ve added a friendly reminder when you first start typing to login to your account to save your work. You may also notice some polishing of the interface including some new icons. Changing icons may seem like a small thing on our to do list. Not for The Yarny Team. We’re so passionate about getting every detail of Yarny just right, well, our landlord had to install soundproofing in the walls around our office. She really did.
Love, The Yarny Team
