All of us here on The Yarny Team wish all NaNoWriMo competitors a tremendously fun, challenging and rewarding creative writing experience. We’ve just added some of the most requested features to help make Yarny the best place to NaNo.
As the first of several enhancements to the exporting feature, when you click the export button at the bottom of each snippet list, you can now give the export file a name, and choose to include group names and snippet names in the export. We’ve also fixed a few glitches that were happening to some exports. Also, remember that you can use tags and searches to limit the snippets shown, and only those snippets shown will be exported.
One of the most requested features we have received is to auto-indent paragraphs, which we included in a prior release. This created a new most requested features, which is to be able to turn off the auto-indents. So, now you have the option to have them on or off. By default, there is no auto-indent. If you want auto-indenting on, just enter a tab after a return and Yarny will learn to do the same for you each time you press return. If you want to turn it off, delete an indent after pressing return and Yarny will understand that you don’t want any more auto-indents. That’s it; pretty simple. Let us know what you think of it.
Now you can move forward and backward one word at a time by holding down the control (or alt) key and pressing the left and right arrows.
If something in Yarny is behaving oddly, or you aren’t seeing your writing, sign out, do a hard refresh (CTRL+refresh or Shift+refresh, depending on your browser), and sign back in. This fixes nearly all of the issues we hear about. It’s the equivalent of quitting and re-launching installed software when it behaves oddly. Hope that helps.
